During La Calisto's run at the Munich State Opera I had the opportunity to talk to mezzo soprano Monica Bacelli about singing mediocre parts, her Puccini-dislike (a woman after my own heart), Maurizio Pollini destroying harpsichords, why modern music is worth listening to (or performing), and what makes this particular David Alden production so special.
