All That Jazz. Again.

Tord Gustavsen TrioIonarts rarely ventures outside the classical realm publicly (if plenty, privately) - but the Tord Gustavsen Trio has been worth mentioning twice before here - and it's worth mentioning again, especially since they have a gig in town today,as part of the free Kennedy Center Millennium Stage concerts.

Their performance will take place in the Terrace Theater, not on the side stages of the Kennedy Center's main hallway. To find out all about the Dialectical Eroticism of Improvisation that Gustavsen champions, be there at 6PM. You can also listen to a live internet broadcast. If Jazz in general (and Keith Jarrett in particular) is your thing, you don't want to miss it.

....If you missed the concert, get 'The Ground.' 'His first ECM disc, 'Changing Places,' is excellent, too. The Jarrett comparison's a bit inapposite-- Gustavsen's a lot more pared-down, closer to Paul Bley in approach.
