Truck Horns in Concert

In case anyone missed it, listen to this article that played on NPR's All Things Considered on Monday (A Symphony of Truck Horns, February 6). If you like the overture for 12 car horns in Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre, you will love this. The city of Detroit wanted to have a Super Bowl performance that featured arrangements of music for tuned semitruck horns. An architect for the City of Detroit and former trumpet player with the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Alexander Pollock, organized the rolling concert, which he called the Semitruck Toot Program. His trucks actually pulled this off last Sunday, just nowhere near the stadium. What a shame!
