Trekking through Chelsea
Of course, there's good stuff to see in Chelsea: you just have to walk a little further. There's Kenny Scharf at Paul Kasmin, and the image shown is the painting I liked best. Laurie Thomas's Monkey Moves at Magnon Projects is a good stop. I also liked Wes Lang's take on the collision of Native American culture at Ziehersmith, but bring your reading glasses. I don't know what's going on at Pace Wildenstein, but some of the polished metal pieces are beautiful. Timothy Tompkins is worth a look at DCKT, and Joel Sternfeld's exposé on experimental utopias is on view at Luhring Augustine. Did you know that between 1810 and 1860 there were at least 600 experimental communities in this country? To this day there are over 75 cohousing communities and several functioning ecovillages, including those with more firepower than on the streets of Baghdad. If you don't like what you see, just wait a month and try again.
Madame would like to ever so politely inquire as to when Monsieur will be returning to Baltimore? (delicate ladylike sigh ...)
ReplyDeleteI'm not allowed back in the state, I'm innocent though, really.
ReplyDeleteCould you get work release, maybe?
