We send our condolences to the Cinetrix, who keeps us informed on film at Pullquote, on the death of her beloved cat, Sabrina. (I like all animals, but there is little to be cherished more than the betstowal of love by a finicky creature like a cat. They don't like just anyone, after all.) How is it possible, in spite of this loss and being in the midst of moving, that she has found the time and presence of mind to direct her readers to lists of films we now really have to take the time to see? First, she reproduces the list of Top 100 Overlooked Films of the 1990s, from Online Film Critics, with the ones she has seen (an impressive list, as you are right to expect) in bold (The Taste of Others, August 4). Then she gave us a list of movies on the theme of body parts transplanted into new bodies (Parts Is Parts, August 6), most of which I haven't seen. If you don't already read her blog, bookmark it now.
Now I have to spend some precious time adding yet more movies to my Netflix queue. I say that as if it will be painful, when expanding that list of movies is the best part of being subscribed to Netflix. Then the DVDs arrive and you actually have to watch them all.
