Among the works of Bach that contain the least of his dance-into-eternity magic; easy-come/easy-go, compared to, say, the cantatas or organ works or single-instrument chamber works. Strange, how an essential quality seems missing, and not strange at all that we should want to like these works so much, even if we cannot succeed very easily.
