The classical Chinese qin, a small zither related to the piano, has been central to the literary, artistic, and scholarly life of China for centuries. Margaret Leng Tan, the celebrated and iconoclastic pianist, performs qin-inspired works by Tan Dun, Erik Griswold, Ge Gan-Ru, and Somei Satoh."
